Texas Monthly Magazine Restaurant Review

BAILEY’S AMERICAN GRILLE
This latest entry in the NASA-area fine-dining scene impressed us with its fresh approach to American cuisine. While some savored the planked salmon with its smoky-sweet crust, another praised the seafood pasta pecorino, a medley of oyster mushrooms, shrimp, and crab in a silky pecorino cheese sauce. However, chicken Pinot Grigio won the prize: moist, tender, and bathed in a subtle herb-flecked wine sauce. What the service lacked in polish it made up in good cheer.

Bailey's is Her Cup of Tea

In a previous column, Larry and Mickey Andrews expressed their displeasure with the gumbo at Bailey's American Grille in Seabrook. But Yvonne Kitchel says she has dined there "numerous times because of the outstanding food (including the gumbo), service and atmosphere. We have recommended it to many friends."

CitySearch Editorial Review for Bailey's American Grille by Andrea Loera

The Scene
Clear Lake locals looking for a more elegant dining option can count on Brad Bailey's steakhouse for crisp service and an upscale casual atmosphere. Texas limestone columns augment the large main dining room that ends in an open kitchen. A side bar near the entrance promotes lingering over cocktails.

The Food
The menu provides Gulf Coast steakhouse fare highlighting local seasonal products and regional flavors. Appetizer standouts feature jumbo lump crab, like the fried green tomatoes served with Texas goat cheese and a lemon garlic sauce. Sample andouille flat bread grilled in a wood-burning oven for a starter, or make it a meal with a seafood-topped salad. Creamy shrimp and grits, mesquite grilled salmon and ancho-maple glazed chicken join a 12-ounce pork chop with grilled peaches and a fall-off-the-bone beef short rib braised in Shiner beer. Sides please Southern palates with creamed green beans, apple bacon mash and slow cooked greens.
